MATTING POLICY: Here at Waggy tails our grooming golden rule is "humanity before vanity" Attempting to brush out matts is extremely painful for your dog. For this reason we do not de-mat. If you dog is matted they will need to be shaved to prevent them from undue pain and stress.

Due to the way matts knot tightly together a short blade needs to be placed between the skin and the matting for removal. Our groomers work carefully and slowly, but the possibility of minor injury does exists as we have to work so close to the skin, these include small nicks, clipper rash or skin irritation.

Matting is something that we cannot magically remove. There are no miracle brushes or techniques. It simply isn’t humane. Extra fees will occur with matted coat removal as it is more time intensive
